These tales take place in a possible future, where humanity has been reborn from the ashes of a great cataclysm. What exactly happened is something lost to time, but the human nature is one of progress. The current day and age finds us 1800 years after this so called cataclysm and while the Earth itself is the same, the societies and technologies of the world are not.
